German and Korean biotech research complement each other excellently. Scientists from both countries attach importance to expanding the cooperation. Such alliances are worth it, especially in view of the worldwide competition.
The Fraunhofer Life Sciences Alliance is successfully expanding the collaboration with its Korean partners, a fact demonstrated by a new Research Centre for Nano and Biotechnology, workshops and visits by delegations, plus numerous new contacts.
A network of research facilities is promoting educational cooperation with South Korea and is building bridges between the cultures. A Memorandum of Understanding makes a particular contribution to cooperation in initial, postgraduate and continuing education and training gradually becoming a part of everyday life.
The Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZ Jülich) is engaging in exchange with Korean partners on the state-of-the-art in bioelectronics and fuel cells. In so doing, two institutes plus the staff unit at the FZ Jülich are expanding and intensifying their contacts with Asia.
