Research Projects
FOKUS, IESE, IBO and IFAM: Four Fraunhofer Institutes are promoting knowledge transfer and are very pleased with the highly-promising R&D projects. These include research cooperation with Korean universities as well as with industry.
The universities of Germany and Korea are continuing to expand and intensify their cooperation and, in doing so, are overcoming bureaucratic obstacles. Framework agreements, numerous research collaborations, and a specifically targeted policy of promoting young scientists and researchers are the factors that have most contributed to this.
The International Association of Microtechnology (IVAM) has pooled its marketing activities in the field of microtechnology, nanotechnology and new and novel materials in a network that is also doing prizewinning work in Korea – to the benefit of its numerous members and their Korean partners.
The Marine Technology Competence Network Schleswig-Holstein is part of a strategic partnership with Korea on researching marine gas hydrates. The future use of this alternative energy resource as well as the study of the risks and opportunities associated with it make up the prime goal of the partnership.
The Maritime Alliance Baltic Sea Region (MAO) offers its members a stepping stone to Korea for cooperation in the field of marine technology and engineering of the future. Numerous companies and research institutions from Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and Hamburg have come on-board as well.
