Designed as a modern, user-friendly and highly interactive website, www.study-in.de is part of the “Land of Ideas – Study in Germany” image campaign to promote study and research opportunities to international students. The German-English website features various Web 2.0 tools, such as an interactive map of Germany, the DAADblog, video clips and a search engine for degree programmes.
In addition to basic information about study-related issues, the website strongly focuses on everyday life in Germany.
To help foreign students especially during the first couple of weeks in Germany, the DAAD has set up its own profile on "facebook". There they can get in touch with German students at their host university while still being in their home country.
Study-in.de is financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and is closely linked with the "Information for Foreigners" section on www.daad.de, which registers ca. 3.3 million page views per month.
