As part of the initiative “Research in Germany – Land of Ideas”, 10 German universities and science organisations will present the German area at the Source Event 2009. The Source Event is a high-end career fair, which aims to introduce scientists at PhD level to potential new employers in their related research field. More than 1000 scientists from the pharma, biotech, healthcare and life and physical sciences sectors will have the opportunity to meet with the German representatives and discuss future employment opportunities in Germany.

Among the exhibitors are Baden Württemberg International (BWI), the International Business School of Service Management (ISS), the Helmholtz Association, the Graduate School of Science & Engineering (IGSSE) at the Technical University of Munich, the Hannover Centre for Quantum Engineering and Space-Time Research at the Leibniz University Hannover, and others.

As part of the exhibition, the German delegates will also hold a workshop under the heading “Welcome to Research in Germany – Land of Ideas", during which they will provide further information on their institutions and potential job opportunities. All interested scientists and journalists are invited to visit the German area, Stand Number 27 and attend the workshop session. The Source Event 2009 will be held on 25 September 2009 from 09.00 to 17.00 at the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, Islington, London, N1 0QH.
