The Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) and the IVAM Microtechnology
Network signed a cooperation agreement at the MicroTechnology Fair, HANNOVER MESSE, Germany.

Both organisations aim to accelerate the information exchange between the two high-tech countries. KITECH supports small and medium-sized enterprises in Korea with the implementation of new high technologies. The institute maintains several research centres in Korea, with a focus on areas like production technology, microsystems technology and robotics. Some 300 companies and institutes working in the fields of microtechnology, nanotechnology and advanced materials are organised under the umbrella of the IVAM network.

"South Korea is a world leader in several high-tech areas, for example, flat displays. It benefits from its proximity to many interesting markets in Asia, such as China. The members of the IVAM Microtechnology Network offer high-tech products that suit the Korean's core areas and interests," says IVAM Managing Director Dr. Uwe Kleinkes, "we believe that both sides can benefit greatly from this cooperation. Excellent visibility in the Korean market will be one of many major advantages for IVAM," commented Kleinkes.
