Programmes & Initiatives

Logo of the WING Programme.

The WING Programme

The Materials Innovations for Industry and Society (WING) programme combines traditional materials research with research on chemical technologies and materials-specific nanotechnology.

The technical stream conditions for the production of carbon nanotubes are tested and optimized in a model reactor.

Innovation Alliance Carbon Nanotubes: Innovation for industry and society

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports materials research within the Innovation Alliance Carbon Nanotubes.

OLED (organic light-emitting diodes)

Within its High-Tech Strategy, the BMBF has supported the development of OLED technology in the framework of the "OLED 2015" innovation alliance since 2006.

OPV (organic photovoltaic cells)

The main advantage of this technology in future, is the possibility of using flexible substrates and thus integrating the cells in various products without having to change the product design.

LIB2015

The High-Tech Strategy encourages science and industry to join forces in key emerging areas and aims at triggering extensive private investments in R&D using public funds.
