Fraunhofer presents: The German High Tech Champions Award 2012 in "Sustainable Transportation"

On the evening of 5 March 2012, Fraunhofer will solemnly present the winners of the German High Tech Champions Awards in "Sustainable Transportation" to invited Indian industry executives in Gurgaon, New Delhi Capital Region. The event will take place within the framework of the Fraunhofer Innovation & Technology Platform "City Spaces." ???aural:Bildanfang???
???aural:Bildende???In accordance with this theme, the nationwide German High Tech Champions competition had called for business cases specifically adapted to needs and conditions in Indian mega-cities. Therefore, the winning business cases feature sustainable concepts for public and private transport in India.
Aiming at exchanging information between scientists and industry as well as identifying R&D needs, Fraunhofer invites industry executives to witness the announcement and application-oriented presentations by the German High Tech Champions at the Award Ceremony. Subsequently, guests will have the exclusive chance to discuss business opportunities with the Champions and to get to know their research institutions. Furthermore, on 6 March the Fraunhofer Innovation and Technology Platform will feature parallel breakout-sessions focusing on the newest technology developments in Logistics and Transportation (automotive and rail engineering). Since the beginning of 2011, Fraunhofer has been turning the spotlight on a few outstanding German technology developers who come out first in a new series of nationwide competitions. To enter, candidates are requested to put forth a tailor-made business case to be presented at an international forum for applied research. The third challenge was initiated in December, 2011 with a call for proposals in "Sustainable Transportation" for Indian mega-cities.
Fraunhofer is Europe’s largest application-oriented research organization. The German High Tech Champions Competitions and Awards are selected "Research in Germany" activities.
