The DAAD database "Summer Schools in Germany 2011" contains almost 300 courses. Most of these courses take place during the university summer break. Some courses are also offered during the winter months. The range of available courses is enormous.
German FIZ CHEMIE have digitized the entire contents of the first and oldest abstracts journal published in the field of chemistry. Beginning from 1830 approximately 900.000 page images with about 2 million abstracts cover 140 years of research progress and patents in pharmaceutical science and chemistry.
With 24 representatives from 12 German institutions, Germany's presence at the SBPC, the biggest scientific conference in South America, made quite an impression on the around 75,000 conference visitors. The 62nd annual conference of the SBPC (Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência) took place from 25 to 30 July 2010 in Natal/Brazil.
