“Research in Germany” information event in Dushanbe, Tajikistan
5/12/11
Location: Dushanbe, Tajikistan
An information seminar on “Research in Germany” was held at the Tajik Academy of Sciences in Dushanbe on 12 May 2011. The seminar was one of a series of regular information events which the DAAD Information Center in Dushanbe plans to hold at the Academy of Sciences. The first event of the “Research in Germany” campaign took place last year.
Mr. Kai Franke, director of the DAAD Information Centre in Dushanbe, began the seminar with a presentation of the scientific landscape in Germany. Several Tajik DAAD alumni then spoke about the research opportunities available in Germany in their particular fields. Representatives from the Open Society Institutes and the University of Central Asia went on to present their joint research programmes with the DAAD.
Following the presentations, approximately 100 Tajik participants (postdocs, doctoral candidates, university professors, researchers, graduate students and undergraduates) had the chance to meet the lecturers. After the seminar, the DAAD IC Dushanbe organised a small research fair where the participants were able talk with the guest speakers and obtain further information concerning research opportunities in Germany.
